Adore’s evocative film was at the heart of Kazan’s winning presentation to host the FINA World Championships—the third largest sports championship in the world.
The film takes viewers into a fantastical world where divers execute acrobatic leaps from iconic Russian buildings and gorgeous synchronized swimmers perform in a baroque opera house transformed into Olympic size swimming pool.
Adore Creative created an international TV campaign entitled “Russia, The Door is Open,” as the cornerstone of Sochi, Russia’s bid for the right to host the 2014 Winter Olympics. This followed the country’s unsuccessful bids for the 2010 Youth Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics.
The campaign focused on Russia’s diversity, sophistication and charm. Starting with a dramatic shot of the imposing Kremlin doors opening, award-winning director Rupert Wainwright used one fluid shot that travels through eight sunny, emotive Russian environments to welcome the world to discover “Today’s Russia.”
Sequences were shot in Red Square and inside the Kremlin Ceremonial doors that have never been open to the public before. Wainwright explains, ”It was such an exciting experience to be shooting some of the most iconic Russian images and places – a wonderful way to meet Russia for the first time.” The spot aired on BBC, as well as CNN, and appeared in 142 countries.
The successes of the campaign led directly to the Black Sea resort of Sochi winning the battle for the 2014 Winter Olympics, bringing this global event to Russia for the first time. Additionally, the campaign was the winner of the Mobius Award for “Outstanding International Advertising.”
Adore Creative produced a legacy film for the biggest sports event in Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympics: Special Olympics World Games LA 2015. Capturing every aspect of the Games from start to finish, the film was produced in real time and debuted at the Closing Ceremonies. During production, Adore also provided daily footage for ESPN’s nightly coverage. After the Closing Ceremonies the film went viral, gathering rave reviews and hundreds of thousands of social media impressions around the world and was highlighted in Google’s “Year in Search 2015” highlights film of the “biggest moments” of 2015.
The centerpiece of a three part film campaign—created and produced by Adore—that helped Russia secure hosting rights for World Cup 2018, besting Spain, Holland and England.
The film follows Sasha, a determined young boy, as he and his soccer ball journey across Russia, culminating in a fantasy sequence where, in dramatic fashion, Sasha scores the winning goal of the World Cup finals. View Case Study
