Rupert WainwrightEnglish born Director, Writer, Producer and Photographer, Wainwright, now lives in Los Angeles. Educated at Oxford and Bristol University, he came to the US in 1986 on a Fulbright Scholarship and while he makes Hollywood his home, he works all over the world. He is the proud father of Peter, Maija and Max, who still don’t understand why Daddy doesn’t have a real job.

Commercial Work
Wainwright has won awards shooting all over the world for such US and International Fortune 500 clients as ATT, Sprint, Honda, Sprite, WalMart, Reebok, Footlocker, Gatorade, McDonalds, Converse, GHI, Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank, Deutsche Telekom, Barilla, BP, Disney, Fritos, and many, many others.

He has worked for clients in the US, Canada, Europe, Russia, Japan, Hong Kong, and South America. His Celebrity Shoots include President Bill Clinton, Jennifer Lopez, Michael Jordan, Anthony Hopkins, Michael Jackson, Michael Chang, Reba Macintyre, Sinbad, Mos Def, Anjelica Huston, Dennis Rodman, James Brown, and Al Gore.

His very first campaign for Reebok won Adweek’s highest Award, the Grand Effie, for the most effective Advertising Campaign of 1992. Sales so far exceeded expectations that Reebok had sold 150% of inventory in the first four months. The ad campaign was featured in a New York Times article.

A recent spot, “Dunk Driving”, part of nationally publicized increase in Drunk Driving prevention, was voted #1 most popular spot in the US in August 2007 and was highlighted on The Today Show and The New York Times.

The Olympics commercial that Wainwright wrote and directed was the centerpiece of Russia's successful campaign for the 2014 Winter Olympics and was aired in worldwide on BBC and CNN International. It won Wainwright a Mobius Award for Best International Commercial in 2007.

Feature Films
Wainwright has directed three Studio films, “Stigmata” staring Patricia Arquette, Gabriel Byrne, and Jonathan Pryce, for MGM; “The Fog” staring Selma Blair, Tom Welling, and Maggie Grace, for Sony Pictures; and “Blank Check” for Walt Disney. The first two were #1 at the US box office opening weekend. “The Sadness of Sex,” an independent film that Wainwright wrote and directed, was released to great critical praise.

Television
Wainwright has directed two TV pilots for CBS and Fox networks, a TV movie for ABC and Warner Bros, and a Reality Pilot for History Channel.

Music Videos
Wainwright helped MC Hammer become a worldwide phenomenon and multimillion dollar busines, by writing and directing all his music videos from when he had no record contract to the pop sensation of “U Can’t Touch This” and beyond. His work with such artists as NWA, Michael Jackson and many, many others has garnered him five MTV awards, a Grammy, and numerous other awards around the world.
