Anne-Marie Verdin, Head of Sales EuropeA veteran of 20 years in the French and British advertising world, Anne Marie Verdin, specializes in running campaigns for big name brands locally and internationally. Verdin has worked for leading French and UK advertising companies including Ogilvy, Disney and Harrods, and has extensive knowledge of both European and International markets.

Anne-Marie Verdin graduated from Oxford and started her professional life with David Ogilvy at Ogilvy and Mather Advertising London. Big brand experience included a stint on Unilever, BSN foods, Compaq Computer and the Financial Times Newspaper Group.

Verdin moved to the Ogilvy Paris office and worked on the European version of the famous Annie Leibovitz campaign for American Express featuring Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Goude, Antoine de Caunes, Catherine Deneuve and Michel Serrault. Other accounts included the Ford Motor Company and Remy Martin International. Verdin led the agency team to win the Disney account for the launch of the Disneyland Paris theme park and was subsequently hired by Disney in 1992.

As Disney’s Marketing and Communications director, Verdin worked for CEO Philip Bourguignon and directly with the US headquarters to Michael Eisner on key creative strategies for Europe. She was responsible for running the advertising and marketing programs across Europe and worked extensively with the European travel industry.

In 1999, Verdin moved to the leading French TV channel TF1 to work for Patrick Le Lay on the launch of the satellite system known as TPS which contained 160 channels by subscription and the creation of 6 home grown cinema and football channels.

In 2002, Verdin worked for Harrods UK, and held responsibilities as group Marketing and Communications Director for the accounts including The Ritz Hotel Paris, Fulham Football Club and the legendary store in Knightsbridge. Focusing on the store, Anne- Marie launched lively new advertising campaigns, relaunched the card and benefits program for VIP shoppers, created a new PR strategy, and executed exciting fashion events and live shows.

In 2005, Verdin returned to Paris where she is currently Marketing Director for Galeries Lafayette, a group that owns 60 stores in France, one in Berlin and one opening shortly in Dubai. She is responsible for the award winning Ad campaign with Jean Paul Goude, the in store merchandising, the card and benefits program, and event marketing.

Consultancy work has included Yahoo France, Universal Studios and Kenzo.
